On behalf of the council and staff I would like to welcome you to the Official Website of the Town of Stephenville Crossing. As Mayor, I am proud to call Stephenville Crossing home. I was born and raised here and have watched my town evolve into one of the nicest towns filled with some of the kindest people you will ever meet.

Our population is holding steady at 1963. We have a selection of business people to serve your every need from groceries, gasoline, building supplies, hair care, pharmaceutical supplies, to postal services as well as just about anything you may be looking for in our small convenience stores. There are bank machines available as well as the professional services of an accountant, land surveyor and local contractors. There is also a bed and breakfast available to serve you.

Our town is centrally located in Bay St. George, with easy access to the Town of Stephenville and within a 45 minute drive of the City of Corner Brook, which allows our residents to take advantage of excellent educational and medical facilities, shopping malls, and sports and recreation activities in every season. Harry’s River offers world class Atlantic salmon fishing and there are many other hunting and fishing opportunities nearby.

Our laid back attitude and proud community spirit makes Stephenville Crossing an attractive place to build in and call home. Just take the time to view all the economically priced building lots to suit you. We have a town full of dedicated volunteers representing church groups, search and rescue, conservation committees, school groups and the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center, just to name a few. There are always people willing to give up some of their time to show you around or point you in the right direction.

I’d like to take the opportunity to invite you to visit us and tour our unique wetlands area where the bird watching opportunities are endless and our Conservation Committee will make sure you are well informed and not disappointed. In July of 2008 we will be celebrating our 50th year of incorporation and we have a full slate of activities planned for family and friends of all ages. If you would like to know more about Stephenville Crossing just follow the links provided, or better yet, just knock on a door and sample our hospitality for yourself.

Again, welcome to Stephenville Crossing.

Mayor Brian Joy
